The Smithfield Hotel is a family run Orkney Hotel, established in 1861, is in the heart of the West Mainland, within easy reach of all Orkney’s main attractions.
Though the hotel has been modernised, it was built with traditional Orkney
stone and retains all it’s distinctive architectural features and old
fashioned style throughout. The proprietors, Colin and Norma Garriock offer
you true Orcadian hospitality on your visit.
Norma and the staff create delicious meals on the premises, using fresh
Orkney produce, including seafood, prime Orkney beef, pork and lamb. Soup,
sweets and cakes are all homemade. A large selection of bar lunches and evening
meals are served daily in the Plout Kirn Lounge Bar and Barn Restaurant.
On request packed
lunches can be made for your fishing trip. We also provide
catering out with the hotel, specialising in catering for weddings and parties.
Accommodation in the hotel includes 6 letting rooms, comprising of 1 family room, 2 double rooms, 2 twin rooms and 1 single room. 5 of our rooms are en suite with the single having a shower room close by. All the rooms have colour TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
